Laying the Foundation to Effective Time Management

Have you ever heard the slogan “Time is money”?

If you truly desire to use your time in a productive manner. You must change the way you view time.

Time must be viewed as a resource that will bring about a future benefit.

“Resource is a source or supply from which a benefit is produced and that has some utility.“

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Resource

The intent of this article is to stimulate your creative thoughts. This is a deliberate attempt for you to view your time as a technique to reduce expenses, increase  cash flow, enhance sales and achieve your desired goals.

7 Strategic Steps to Effective Time Management

  1. Direct your thoughts on how your time has and is currently being used.

Record what you have found to be effective in achieving your tasks. Assess which tasks within your daily routine has been a time waster.

  1. Review your list.
  2. Write down the things you have found to be effective in having a productive day &/or week.
  3. Document the consequences of you not performing the things that are on your list.
  4. There is a cost associated with everything that you carry out or fail to do.
  5. Consider what will your desired goals cost you.
  6. Revise your list with the vital tasks that will move you to your goals desired end.

If you were honest with yourself. The answers to previously mentioned steps; should have assisted you in determining time wasters vs time savers.

Time savers always move you closer to your goal.

Wikipedia defines “plan is typically any diagram or list of steps with details of timing and resources, used to achieve an objective to do something.”

“Time management is the process of planning and exercising conscious control of time spent on specific activities, especially to increase effectivenessefficiency, and productivity.” https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Time_management

Plan with the end in mind.  If you were going to buy a house or rent an apartment. Wouldn’t you  figure out the cost associated with that task?  The same holds true for the tasks in your everyday life. If you wish to complete the tasks. You must determine what will the tasks cost you.

Time is a resource. I hope I have motivated you to use it wisely. Now implement these steps into your everyday life.

Many employers strive for better employees, Now imagine what kind of loyalty and employee satisfaction employers will receive in return, if the employee recognizes the employer as the catalyst for his or her transformation?

This principle applies to families, communities and business of which we all are a part. Individual success tied to team success means that everyone wins.
